The vibrancy of our parish life is sustained and enriched by various ministries, groups and outreach projects.
God Start is a post-baptismal program run by CatholicCare, but initiated at Parish level, that helps parents to help their pre-school children to develop a sense of God through activities and appropriate language. God Start is also about bringing families together on a social basis.
There are three aspects to the program as follows:
- Special birthday cards for children’s 1st and 2nd birthday
- A set of activities for 3 year olds
- A prayer book for 4 year olds.
As a member of the parish with a child baptised at St. Brendan’s, your child will automatically be part of the God Start programme. If you are a new parishioner with young children, please contact contact firstname.lastname@example.org who will ensure you child becomes part of the program.
For more information about the program visit the Catholic Care website.
Pastoral Leadership TeamThe Pastoral Leadership Team (PLT) meets once a month and draws on members of the St. Brendan's and Holy Rosary parishes to assist with the pastoral running of the church and planning for the future. Our PLT includes:
Sr Pat Dimeck
Parishioners are invited to contribute to the ongoing financial support of the parish. The Parish was built on the generosity of those who have come before us. It is the responsibility of us now to be generous within our means, to ensure the existence of the Parish in the future For further information on how you can play a part contact Carol Harris or download the form.
Time and Talent
St. Brendan’s relies on the generosity of its parishioners for the running of weekly masses and of services the Parish provides to the community. Many parishioners already assist in different ways and you can be rostered as part of the team in any one of the following areas:
- Communion to the elderly and sick*
- Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
- Children’s Liturgy**
- Monthly Morning tea
- Prayers of the faithful
If you would like to be part of the team for one or more of these important duties, please contact contact email@example.com.
*Taking communion for the elderly and sick requires you to have a police check under the Adult Aged/Disabled Care category. Online forms can be found at the Victoria Police website. Fees associated with this will be re-imbursed by the parish.
**Working with children as part of the Children’s Liturgy requires as Working with Children Check. Forms are available at Australia Post outlets and, as your services are voluntary, no fee is required.
If you are new to the area and would like to be part of the parish, we invite you to complete a census slip. The information provided is strictly for the use of St. Brendan’s parish and will not be provided to third parties.
It ensures we can keep in touch with you as a member of the St. Brendan’s community. As a new member of the parish you are also invited to contribute to the financial upkeep of the parish through our thanksgiving programme.
For further information on how you can play a part contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
